Preparation: Start by finding a safe and refractory surface, such as a ceramic plate or a bowl where you can place your incense sticks. Make sure it is away from flammable material and away from drafts.
Start by opening a window – this creates air circulation and ensures that the smoke moves freely, giving you a light and comfortable atmosphere.
Ignition: Hold one end of the incense sticks over an open flame and let it burnfor 20-30 seconds. When the wood stick starts to glow, gently blow out the flame.
Purification: The smoke will now rise quietly and create atmosphere and fragrance – you can move the stick around the room, leave it in an ovenproof bowl or incense holder.
Extinguishing: When you want to stop, you smother the smoke by pressing the stick into sand, salt or a non-flammable surface.
NOTE: Always use on a fireproof surface. Never leave lit incense unattended. Feel free to air out after use.
